Frustration for Team JDR at Brands Bash!
LUCK is in short supply at the moment for Evesham-based Jones Dorling Racing.
Round six of the Superstock 1000 Championship at Brands Hatch saw rider Ashley Beech fighting to 14th fastest in the practice session but then retiring into the pits for further adjustments to the BMW 1000.
Unfortunately rider Joshua Boyd had a fast crash on the first corner of the session after pushing hard.
Boyd was taken to the medical centre for assessment and was deemed unfit to race for the rest of the weekend.
The hard-working JDR crew worked late to get Beech’s bike ready for qualifying.
Beech battled to get some fast laps in to qualify in eighth position and a third-row place on the grid for the 100-mile race later that day.
He started the first part of the two-stage race well but was hampered by technical issues just as it was red flagged due to a number of crashes on the ninth lap.
After another seamless pit stop by the JDR pit crew Beech had to retire from the second part after six laps.
For the 16-lap race Beech had a flying start and moved up seven places but technical issues forced him to retire on the fourth lap.
The team are working hard to get the season back on track with round seven this weekend at Thruxton.
