Ashley Beech was back in the points for Evesham-based Jones Dorling Racing at Silverstone.
But there was disappointment for second rider Joshua Boyd who was forced to retire with electrical problems.
The build-up to the ninth round of the Superstock 1000 Championship was far from ideal with the crew spending time trying to repair a severely bent frame on Beech’s BMW 1000 ahead of practice.
Torrential rain then hampered the qualifying session when the team were hoping to get the right settings ahead of the following day’s race.
But the horrendous weather meant the team managed just seven laps in the dry.
Boyd also came to grief at Club corner where huge amounts of water had flooded the circuit.
Beech started from a frustrating 19th on the grid with Boyd in 35th ensuring a tough race for the pair and the team’s second rider lasted just seven laps before having to call it a day.
Beech steadily moved up the field and picked up a well-earned point from the weekend thanks to his 15th place.
It edged him closer to the top 15 in the championship ahead of this weekend’s round 10 at Oulton Park.
