EVESHAM'S Jones Dorling Racing had a mixed bag of results in their home round at Silverstone.
In the British Superstock Series, free practice went well with the crew trying different settings to improve lap times for qualifying.
Ashley Beech did a wet qualifying session on the new Suzuki 1000 which he rode for the first time in the last round at Cadwell Park.
He then finished 26th in a close 100-mile race consisting of two 24-lap races with a 10 minute pit-stop, setting a fastest lap time of 56.6 seconds.
Superstock 600 qualifying was challenging for Cameron Fraser and Ewan Potter on the Yamahas, ending up 21st and 22nd respectively.
Fraser's session was ended early after an accident with the bike suffering minimal damage and the rider passing a medical.
But he had to retire on lap two of the race due to problems with the machine following the crash.
Potter improved to 16th position with a personal best on the circuit while Beech upped his placing to 22nd.
They have another meeting at Oulton Park this weekend.
Team manager Tom Jones said: “Beech is riding faster on each outing on the Suzuki with the bike feeling good.
The weekend has been a step in the right direction and we are ready for Oulton Park.”
