Jones Dorling Racing has announced their 2020 rider line-up, retaining Jordan Weaving for the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship for a second consecutive season, alongside Joe Collier who joins the team for a double assault on the title.
Both Weaving and Collier will be running on the JDR Suzuki GSXR 1000 in addition to a new challenge for the team as Michael Tustin lines up to compete in the Ducati Tri Options Cup.
Weaving, a previous Moto3 and National Superstock 600 champion, will be aiming high following his success with the team towards the end of last season, with highlights including a podium finish at Donington Park.
Collier, a previous Ducati TriOptions Cup and Supersport Evo champion, will be pushing him all the way, after finishing third in the Superstock 1000 Championship in 2018.
Tustin, who is joining the team for his fourth season in the series, is also looking to be a regular podium finished after securing top three results previously.
Weaving said: "I’m really looking forward to 2020. I had a strong end to the season and found the direction I was looking for in the bike. If we can hit the ground running in 2020 like we ended the season in 2019. I think we can have a very strong year. The team have been so supportive and doing everything they can to give me the necessary tools to do the job and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work."
Collier said: "I am really happy to be a part of the Jones Dorling Racing team for the 2020 season so big thanks to Chris and Tom for giving me the opportunity. I feel that onboard the JDR Suzuki I can be back where I should be, fighting for the championship at the sharp end and I can't wait for testing in a few weeks’ time!"
Tustin said: "I’m really looking forward to be given the opportunity to work with Chris, Tom and the rest of the JDR team for 2020. It is the stuff of dreams for me personally, being able to race for an established team, as it will give me a good platform to progress and improve my riding. I hope that I can learn from my teammates, Joe and Jordan, and we can work as a team to help JDR get the results we all hope for - roll on 2020!”
Team Principal, Chris Jones said: "I'm really happy to have the opportunity to be running Joe, Jordan and Michael this year. All of them have a wealth of experience and the team is looking forward to working with them. Our sponsors are excited and have come up with a package that gives us a chance to compete at the level required and we will be testing in Spain before the start of the season. I'm very happy with the Suzuki machinery and support we have from them."
